3 Steps To Getting Your Ass In The Gym

I’ve been there and you’ve been there too (that’s probably why you’re reading this) and I’m here to give you some tips to help you get your ass in the gym. It’s no easy feat getting into the gym and training, there is so much that goes into the process of just showing up at the gym to train. I hope you find these

1.) Prepare, Prepare, Prepare

Half of your battles can be won here at #1! A lot of times, we fail before we even begin to even think about training. The best way to mitigate this is to be prepared! Set your training equipment next to the door, whether it be a pair of running shoes or boxing gloves. If you took the time to prepare your things to train, it makes getting out the door that much easier when it comes time to train.

2.) Remind Yourself Why You’re Training

We’ve all been there.

It sounds simple, but we often find ourselves not wanting to remember. Maybe you’re fighting or trying to get your 6-pack abs ready for summer. Whatever it may be, look back at the goals you wrote down for yourself, then remind yourself what it is that you really want.

3.) Have Fun

This is me when I’m running and cutting weight.

Something that is often thought of as “work” but can be helped by having fun. I mean, sure you can be miserable and still workout, but why make it harder on yourself? Something that I’ve seen the Thai fighters use as a coping method to the grind is to just smile, crack a joke (whether it be at yourself or otherwise), and rock out!

Take these 3 steps to getting your ass in the gym and work them into your routine. They can help you to create a sustainable approach to exercise and to reaching your fitness goals.
