Last day in Bangkok

Roy and I with the boxers at KT Gym
Today has been a very exciting day for Roy and I.  We started the day off with training at Keatkhamtorn Gym on recommendation from a friend.  WOW.  This place was awesome, not as gritty as Sasiprapa but still a very good gym.  They have many great fighters here as well, one of the top names Nopparat, who is definitely one of the best nak muay’s in Thailand.  As I was looking through the pictures on their walls, I noticed how many people the trainers know, such as Buakaw’s trainer.  Luckily my pad holder was good friends and training partners with most of the people on the wall, I knew I was in good hand. :)  Not only do they have excellent fighters, but the Thai food here is definitely up-to-par with many local places as well.
During the afternoon we stopped by Sasiprapa and said our goodbyes, and I grabbed a new pair of boxing trunks as well.  Sadly Thakoon, the owner of Sasiprapa, was out and we were not able to say goodbye to him in person but we were able to talk to him on the phone, he is a very busy man.

Then back to our hotel room for some packing and making sure that we have everything we need to bring back for Kru and ourselves.  Luckily I was able to sneak in a little nap as well before we did a bit of shopping because we decided to try and get one more training session in at Keatkhamtorn and that we did.

Luckily Jakae, the owner of Keatkhamtorn, arranged for Nopparat to do some 1-on-1 training with Roy and I.  Can you say “gun shy”? ;)  To be in the same ring with this guy is just crazy, I will definitely remember my experience with him for a long time to come.  Luckily we have pictures as well!  What a great way to end an already amazing experience out here in Thailand.

I can’t wait to get back home and do a complete write-up of our trip out here.  Roy and I just finished up our packing, we are meeting the rest of the group at the airport.  I think Roy and I are pulling an all-nighter here, as we have to be up at 4:30 AM anyways.  It’s not like we won’t have PLENTY of time to sleep on the flight back. ;)  I hope everyone else is doing well, it is the Chinese New Year and it is now the year of the Tiger, which is supposed to be very lucky.

Doing some technique with Nopparat, he was very persistent
on having me crank his neck as hard as possible.
One for the books.
