Muay Thai & Kickboxing Training

Are you looking for the best martial art to train in for self-defense and fitness?

If you answered yes, then you’ve come to the right place.

Muay Thai & Kickboxing training is a proven way to shed excess body fat & is a battle-tested form of hand-to-hand combat that can be practiced by ANYONE! I’ve personally been training in Muay Thai since 2007 and it’s taken me on a rollercoaster, which you can read about about here on my blog. I can tell you personally that Muay Thai & Kickboxing training has changed my life. I went from an 18 year old with little-to-no purpose or direction in life, to finding something that gave my day-to-day a purpose. It drove me to getting a better job, helping my family when possible, helping my friends, not to mention the health benefits of training in this awesome martial art!

Benefits of Muay Thai & Kickboxing Training Include:

  • Stress Relief – Coach Orion Lee wrote a nice blog about it over at Breaking Muscle.
  • Mental Focus – I can tell you first hand that I wouldn’t have the mental focus to write this without Muay Thai & Kickboxing training.
  • Increased Flexibility – I’ve had people who couldn’t kick above their knee using head kicks after consistent training!
  • Self-Discipline – I never would have imagined being able to manage my diet, train, teach, and work, all at the same time.
  • Self-Defense – Muay Thai is very simple in it’s movements and the basics are quick and easy to get started with.

Pushing Yourself Is A Big Part of Muay Thai & Kickboxing Trainingmuay-thai-kickboxing-training

In my opinion, one of the best things about Muay Thai & Kickboxing, is that both of them are growing as sports here in the United States. If you are looking to have your competition “itch” fulfilled, Muay Thai is a great way. Albeit a little “extreme” for some, there are many benefits to competition and I fully support my students in training for Muay Thai & Kickboxing competitions.

You might be asking yourself, “What exactly is Muay Thai?”, I’ll refer to Wikipedia:

Muay Thai is a combat sport from the muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.[1][2][3][4] This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on foot is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.[5] Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts.[6] A professional league is governed by the World Muay Thai Council.
