Wrapping Things Up

After 3 weeks of training out here in Thailand, it’s almost time to wrap things up and go home.  I’m excited and bummed at the same time. I wish I could stay out here for a longer period of time to train and see more of Bangkok and the rest of Thailand, Phuket would have been a nice place to visit.  As far as training goes, this stomach issue is affecting my training, which makes it a problem, especially since I only have about a day left of training out here.  I also have a lot on my plate when I get back home and I’m very anxious to get a lot of it out of the way.

Yesterday Roy and I went to TV 7 again in Bangkok for the free fights that they broadcast every Sunday.  Most of the fights were from 102 lbs up to 116 lbs and were definitely up-to-par with the fights we saw here the last time.  The first fight was 102 lbs, and they just went at it towards the end of the 1st round, which is unusual for fights here in Thailand, they usually don’t pick-up until the 3rd.  The fight ended after the 5th with a decision, which surprised not only me but seemed to really piss off the betting pit.  Everyone was protesting the decision, I seriously thought we were about to see some fights outside of the ring haha.  They eventually pulled both boxers back into the ring, raised both of their hands and called it a draw, which seemed to put everyone at ease.  It was still interesting to see that a bad decision can happen even here in Thailand.  The rest of the fights were awesome, and I could go on for hours talking about them.

This morning’s training session was a little bit different, Roy and I opted not to go for the morning run.  Roy was running through yesterday and was chased by a few of the rabid dogs in the area, funny to hear about it but would have sucked if it were me. ;)  I got one of the best pad holders in there, which was awesome to say the least, but I don’t recall his name.  Sadly I had to cut my morning session short due to my stomach problem…

Well, that is all for now.  I can’t wait to get back home and share the experience we have had with everyone, I’ll do my best to post more before we leave on Wednesday.  Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day!
